RM) So far so good. He_s weathering the attacks pretty well. Here_s the story.RM) As the frontrunner in the GOP race life for Mitt Romney is filled with tough attacks from his rivals. But at the most RECENT debates over the weekend things got DOWNRIGHT UGLY. Especially when it came to his opponent Newt GINGRICH Newt HAMMERED the former Massachusetts governor on several key issues. For example Romney_s assertion that he isn_t a career politician.Gingrich also accused Romney of approving some pretty BRUTAL attack ads AGAINST the former House Speaker. For his part Romney more or less DENIED the accusations. Mind you it doesn_t seem to be affecting VOTERS. The New Hampshire primary is TUESDAY NIGHT and Romney is WAY up in the polls. And according to ONE online oddsmaker Romney has an 83 percent chance of winning the nomination... Back to you Kat. No walkKC) Thanks Raya - and once again welcome back Standing by now with an INSANE weather story out of Alaska is Naked News reporter Ariella Banks. (ARIELLA MUST BE ON CAMERA HERE) It_s been pretty snowless winter outside the Naked News studios Ariella but that_s not the story everywhere is it?AB) Definitely not Kat. In fact there_s a town in Alaska that_s going through some severe winter weather. The kind that would have even the BIGGEST snow-lover shivering.KC) You sort of expect that kind of weather in Alaska but this is extreme even for THEM am I right? AB) I_d say 18 feet of snow is extreme even for anyone Kat. This is what_s going on. AB) The small town of Cordova Alaska is pleading for help after being crippled by extreme snowfall. In the past three weeks an estimated EIGHTEEN FEET of snow has covered this small fishing town. At least three buildings have partially collapsed under the excess weight. A state of emergency has been declared for all of Alaska but Cordova is arguably the hardest hit area with some people even trapped inside their homes. Fortunately there haven_t been any injuries reported among the town_s two thousand residents. The National Guard has been called in to help facilitate the large-scale snow removal... Back to you Kat.KC) Thanks Ariella - that story just makes me hate winter even more Ok lets wrap up this first look at the news in Iran where an American man has been sentenced to death. Amir Mirzaei Hekmati (ah-MEER meer-zah-EE hek-MAH-tee) was found guilty of accusations that he was a spy working for the CIA. He was also convicted of trying to accuse Iran of being involved in terrorist activities. In a supposed confession the former Marine says he was deceived into helping the CIA but never intended to undermine Iran. It_s not clear when he was convicted but under Iranian law he has 20 days to appeal. We_ll be right back.

By 2029 it will be able to travel from San Francisco to Los Angeles in under three hours Voters approved ten billion dollars in bonds for the venture in 2008 but public support has dwindled since then due to the project_s soaring costs.

Let_s get right into the headlines courtesy of our very own Katherine Curtis who_s got some surprising new info on American oil production.As we all know Eila crude oil prices have TANKED over the last little while but that hasn_t stopped American companies from producing at RECORD levels The US oil industry is projected to produce a RECORD amount of oil this year. And the thing is you couldn_t pick a stranger time to have a record-breaking year. Oil prices have fallen from over a hundred dollars a barrel last summer to about fifty this year. A big reason for the production surge is the delay between when oil wells are drilled and when they start pumping oil which can take up to a year. That means the recent declines in the industry haven_t been felt yet on the production side of things.Saudi Arabia is spending more than ever on its military. The country_s military budget grew by 17-percent in 2014 to 80.8 billion dollars. It marks the biggest jump among the world_s top defense spenders. The increase reflects the volatility in the Middle East. But when it comes to over-ALL spending the US is still far and away the global leader. Their bill totaled 610 billion dollars last year. The Gap Sears and Target are among 13 major US retailers being investigated in New York for how they schedule their hourly workers. Attorney general Eric Schneiderman has asked them all for details on the companies_ use of on-call shifts. It_s a growing trend that allows stores to have more staff when it_s busy and fewer when times are slow. We_ve also got an absolutely INSANE police car chase from Los Angeles that was played out on live TV. But our first story comes to us from Boston where the city is digging out of yet another MASSIVE snowfall. There_s so much snow now in Beantown Carli that they don_t know what to do with it That_s right Peyton Boston has been hit with its THIRD major storm in two weeks. We_re talking a total accumulation now of about EIGHTY inches in the last 30 days. Here_s the latest.Two more feet of snow has just fallen on Boston smashing snowfall records. It_s really insane what_s going on there. Schools are closed once again and public transportation has been suspended and will remain closed until at least Wednesday. The storms have been relentless in the Boston area it_s snowed 13 of the past 17 days and believe it or not even MORE snow is expected later this week. In other news ten women and two men will serve as the jury in the trial of the man charged with killing American Sniper Chris Kyle. Attorneys for former Marine Eddie Ray Routh will argue he is not guilty by reason of insanity due to post-traumatic stress disorder from his time in Iraq. More than 800 summons were sent out for the trial-more than four times the usual amount. Opening statements begin in Texas on Wednesday. And a wild rush-hour police pursuit of an armed man in Los Angeles ended with the suspect being shot and taken into custody all on live TV. Police were led at high speeds through downtown streets and highways while the suspect crashed into several cars and high-jacked another vehicle. Local TV news stations in LA broadcast the pursuit live from cameras mounted on helicopters. The suspect_s identity and condition have not released. We_ll be right back.

Low humidity and high temperatures are fueling fires across a number of states including Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Montana. The largest of which is burning in Idaho_s Salmon Challis national forrest where over 11-hundred firefighters are working around the clock to try and contain 2 seperate blazes. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange made his first public statement since being granted asylum in an Ecuadorian embassy in London. In his remarks, he had a firm message for the US.I ask President Obama to do the right thing n The United States must renounce it_s witch-hunt against WikiLeaks.He also called for an end to what he calls a war on whistleblowers and for the release of Bradley Manning, who_s accused of providing WikiLeaks with hundreds of thousands of documents.And Hollywood is reeling from the news that director Tony Scott committed suicide. Scott jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles Harbor. Police have confirmed that they have recovered a suicide note from Scott_s office. Scott_s family, including his Oscar-winning brother Ridley Scott n has asked for privacy. Tony Scott was best known for directing the blockbuster Top Gun, as well as Days of Thunder, Crimson Tide, and Enemy of the State. Back to you Vic. very sad news, thank you Peyton. I hear it was a pretty easy choice this week Angie.We always have a few candidates in the mix Kat but this week one stood head and shoulders above the pack - in all the worst ways The members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at the University of Oklahoma. They shamed themselves and everyone else associated with the national fraternity - and the University of Oklahoma. In case you missed it a video came to light a few days ago capturing SAE frat members singing a racist song about when black people might be invited to pledge. Spoiler alert - the answer is never. So yeah. That_s a thing that happened. IN 2015 The source of the shameful 9-second video is unknown but he or she obviously didn_t approve because the vid was passed on to a campus equality group called Unheard. THEY posted it online and it_s made headlines around the world - and rightfully so. You might expect this type of slimy behaviour at a Klan rally but not with supposedly well-educated college kids. As you_d expect the backlash around all this has been fierce. SAE denounced the actions of the Oklahoma chapter apologized and promised to investigate the incident. But that was hardly enough to satisfy most people. OU has dropped the hammer on the frat booting the racist bums from their on-campus house and completely severing ties with SAE. Two of the frat members have been expelled. And to make matters worse another video surfaced this week featuring SAE_s 79-year old house mother. She_d claimed she had no idea the boys in her frat sang songs like that. But the new video says otherwise. It shows her drunk and repeatedly chanting the n-word. Wow what a charming bunchFallout from the video scandal is likely far from over. The OU campus has seen a number of demonstrations against racism this past week. The school_s famous football team even skipped a practice to take part in a protest walking-arm-in-arm while wearing all black. The controversy has even cost the team a top-ranked recruit who changed his mind about being a Sooner. As if the SAE clowns weren_t already hated enough on campus now they_re messing with the school_s famous football program. Angie Heyward is in our Naked Newsroom starting with new details on that deadly shooting spree in Copenhagen.Carli the man allegedly responsible for killing two people on Saturday pledged allegiance to ISIS on his Facebook page before carrying out the attacks. Dutch officials have identified the man as Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein. He was killed in a shootout with police after opening fire at a free speech forum in Copenhagen and then shooting people outside a synagogue. A former NSA employee has confirmed to Reuters that the Russian findings are indeed correct. Meanwhile the Kaspersky Lab has ALSO shed light on a billion dollar international hacking ring The scheme is believed to have started in 2013 and affected more than one hundred banks in thirty countries. Rather than targeting consumers hackers aimed malware at bank employees to gain info on internal operations. The report says that most of the banks were located in Russia but institutions in China Ukraine and the US were also victimized.
