The G20 summit in Brisbane Australia wrapped up with global leaders pledging to boost their economies by at least 2.1 percent by 2018. But much of the weekend_s attention went to Russian President Vladimir Putin who was given a rather frosty reception. Putin faced harsh criticism for destabilizing Ukraine. US President Barack Obama told reporters Putin was violating international law and providing heavy harms to separatists. It wasn_t too much of a surprise when Putin left the summit early citing a long flight back to Moscow. Months after it crashed in war-torn eastern Ukraine the recovery of downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 has finally begun. Dutch officials are overseeing the operation which will see the wreckage taken back to the Netherlands to further investigate the cause of the crash. The passenger jet was carrying nearly three hundred people - two-thirds of whom were Dutch - when it was shot down flying over an area controlled by pro-Russian separatists. Rebel forces have been accused of shooting down the plane - claims both rebel leaders and the Russian government deny.Meanwhile in the Netherlands the EU has ordered the killing of 150000 hens to contain a highly contagious form of bird flu. Health officials say the strain known as H5N8 could potentially affect humans. The disease has been traced back to a farm in Hekendorp. Authorities have announced a three-day countrywide ban on the transport of poultry and eggs as they work to battle the outbreak. From the newsroom I_m Scarlette.

Turns out it WAS a big deal and totally mattered Star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was TERRIBLE and the Giants got blown away by Green Bay at Lambeau Field Things were close in the early going but the turning point came on a hail mary from Aaron Rodgers at the end of the half Unbelievable That was one of Rodgers_ FOUR touchdowns on the day and the Packers won in a rout 38 to 13. Seriously I don_t know how Rodgers does it with the hail marys. His passes always find the open manHe_s amazing. And if you haven_t seen any of the yacht memes on social media do yourself a favor and check them out. TOO funny Things were even more lopsided in the OTHER three games this weekend Steelers running back Le_Veon Bell had 167 yards rushing and two TD_s leading Pittsburgh to a 30 - 12 romp over Miami. But the big story came right at the end of the game when Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger hurt his ankle. He swears he_ll play next week but stay tuned And on Saturday night the Seattle Seahawks made mincemeat out of the Detroit Lions Seattle_s D smothered the Detroit offense and turned this one into a total snoozefest winning 26-6. And last but not least injuries forced the Oakland to start rookie QB Connor Cook in Houston and it went about as well as you_d expect The Raiders struggled to move the ball all game long and the Texans won a laugher 27-14. All-in-all it was the most lopsided slate of wildcard games since 1981 Madison.Okay not great but football fans have a LOT to look forward to next weekend including Kansas City against Pittsburgh and Green Bay at Dallas Can_t wait Let_s switch things up and cover a sport that doesn_t get a ton of love around here: women_s college basketball.We don_t talk about it too often but when we do it_s because something CRAZY happened Things got hardCORE on the hardcourt Saturday night during UNLV_s clash with Utah State Things got heated in the third quarter and then all hell broke loose The two players at the heart of the scrum WERE ejected for fighting and three more from each team were booted for leaving their bench and joining the brawl Both squads had to play shorthanded the rest of the way but UNLV got the last laugh. The Rebels won 55-53 in overtime Can_t wait to see THAT rematch Over in hockey the Dallas Stars got a BIG scare on their way home from St. Louis. A few minutes after takeoff their plane had to perform an emergency landing due to smoke in the cockpit Thankfully they were able to turn around and land safely in St. Louis but up in smoke IS a fitting metaphor for the Stars_ season thus far Soccer_s World Cup is getting bigger but probably not better FIFA_s announced plans to expand the tournament from 32 to 48 countries They_d be broken up into 3 groups of 16. Officials say the move will help the development of the sport around the world but critics think it will only dilute the quality of games. Let_s be honest Veronica: the REAL reason is money If the changes are approved FIFA_s looking at a profit hike of 640 million dollars When in doubt follow the money right?Exactly. And most of the new teams being added will come from Africa and Asia which everyone knows are typically the two weakest regions for soccer. It_s not good news for Google Peyton and it COULD cost the search giant tens of BILLIONS Here_s what_s going on. The competition branch of the European Union is accusing Google of abusing its dominance online. EU officials claim Google favors its own shopping links over those of other online vendors. The case is the result of a five year investigation into Google that was launched following complaints from Microsoft Tripadvisor and many others since 2010. If found guilty of anti-competitive behavior Google could face billions in fines and might have to make major changes to the way it does business in Europe. In other news President Barack Obama has recommended to Congress that Cuba be removed from the U.S. government_s list of state sponsors of terrorism. After the announcement the Cuban government praised Washington for its fair decision to remove them from the controversial list. The designation put Cuba in the same category as serious offenders including Syria and Iran - had been a major sticking point in previous negotiations. And it turns out the US Congress will have a say on the recently agreed-upon nuclear deal between Iran and the White House. A bipartisan bill has been passed in the Senate that will give members of congress the right to reject any final deal with Iran. However President Obama still retains the right to veto their decision. An outline agreement on Iran_s nuclear program was reached earlier this month and delegates have set a June 30th deadline to iron out the details. We_ll be right back

The best guess is the good probiotic bacteria helps with appetite control. The Coca Cola company is branching out into MILK. In late December they_ll be launching a PREMIUM milk called Fairlife. I_m Katherine Curtis you_re watching Naked News. Well as predicted the weather battered states of New York and New Jersey were hit with yet ANOTHER storm. This is the last thing they needed after the devastation caused by hurricane Sandy only a few days ago. And like its predecessor this latest nor_easter has done its fair share of damage. 60-mile-per-hour winds have brought down trees and power lines blacking out tens of thousands of more homes across the region. In addition to a number of evacuations hundreds of flights in and out of both states were cancelled leaving thousands of travelers stranded. To date nearly 100 thousand people have registered for emergency housing assistance n a number that_s expected to increase in the coming days. An analysis of the US presidential vote tally has shed some light on exactly how Barack Obama handily won Tuesday_s election. Though his margin of victory in the popular vote was slim Obama scored major victories in some key demographics. With more here_s Eila Adams. Kat president Obama proved to be the candidate of choice for women latinos African americans and younger voters. Obama garnered 55-percent of the female vote compared to just 44-percent for Mitt Romney. His support among the Latino and African American community was even more impressive where he scored 71-percent and 93-percent of votes respectively. And once again his support among younger voters helped put him over the top. 60-percent of voters between the ages of 18 and 29 submitted ballots for Obama Kat.Sounds to me like the Republican party has some major work to do. So where did most of ROMNEY_S support come from?Well he DID get most of the white vote Kat the problem is that_s a shrinking demographic and not enough of them showed up at the polls. 72% versus 74% in 2008. Yeah that IS a problem it_s surprising because just over a week ago it seemed like the Romney campaign had all the momentum. What happened?Well that depends on who you ask. But in terms of demographics as I said Romney simply wasn_t able to compete in several key groups: specifically African-Americans Hispanics and the largest of all women. In fact Romney trailed Obama with SINGLE women by a staggering 38 percent a statistic due in no small part to the Republican party_s heightened focus on issues like contraception and abortion. Other complaints from conservative strategists include Paul Ryan_s inability to vitalize the ticket and Hurricane Sandy_s domination of the news cycle in the final days of the campaign. A pessimist would say the cinders of the fire that burned SEVEN THOUSAND ACRES of land this weekend could easily reignite. And the Los Angeles Fire Chief is saying a bit of both Fire operations will be continuing for some time but the good news is that containment is rising and most evacuees have been able to return home Is it any wonder we love firemen? Of course we know the effects of a natural disaster last far longer than the disaster itself. And if we forgot Texas Governor Greg Abbott reminded us In a weekend interview he estimated that recovery costs for the state in the wake of Hurricane Harvey will likely hit 180 BILLION dollars So far the White House has asked Congress for a little under 8 billion but Governor Abbott has framed that as a down-payment.
